Message from Founder & Chair
Ageing populations bring about inevitable social, economic and political transformation. Now is the time to rethink our notion of ageing, put forward innovative solutions, turn ageing challenges into opportunities and co-create Smart Ageing Cities in Asia to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.
At the Golden Age Foundation, we advocate a paradigm shift to empower Golden Agers (aged 45+) to become a new force in society. The baby boom generation that has already begun to reach retirement age can and will become change makers in community affairs, education, business and many other areas, given the right kind of support. Governments should adopt innovative policies, appropriations and other support to this end.
Today’s Golden Agers with new values, aspirations and needs versus that of the traditional “silver haired” generation, will create opportunities for businesses across a wide range of sectors. It will be necessary for corporations to explore new products and services to ensure that these needs are met effectively as part of an inclusive and sustainable business strategy.
Our Foundation is a collaborative platform that delivers collective impact. Over the past two years, we have spearheaded and hosted a number of innovative events by collaborating with public and private institutions at local, regional and international levels. These events include the annual Golden Age Expo & Summit, various community projects and creative collaborations with enterprises. We engage policymakers, entrepreneurs, academics, scientists, designers, investors and Golden Agers to develop the Smart Ageing Cities.
Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”. We see a changed world emerging, a world in which smart ageing will be the key to the improvement of society. We strive to build Smart Ageing Cities with shared vision and values.
